About Danny Ray - Founder of FUN Acting Studio's in LA
Danny Ray was trained at the esteemed Drama Centre of London, with fellow British students Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender, as well as many other leading actors today. After a successful career overseas, Danny moved his unique talent in 2009 across the Atlantic to Los Angeles.
There he attended, audited, and participated in several acting classes. All of them were too crowded, too expensive, and--worst of all-- too brief. The overabundance of students would attend once a week for 20 minutes. Even if the teachers had fine reputations, it didn't matter. Those students were paying top dollar for a lack of attention. They entered the classes with ambition but left with disillusion. Not to mention they were taught formulas. But formulas didn't work, not with creativity. The students needed to understand the philosophy of how to live and think like an actor.
When he was working exclusively with a few students for a couple of weeks, he witnessed a phenomenon. Their abilities had grown dramatically. They had adopted techniques that had taken him years to master at the Drama Centre. This occurred around the time of his father's passing. He understood how truly unique it was to have a father who supported him, loved him unconditionally, and encouraged him to follow his dreams, loves, and passions. Those values he attributes to his success as an actor, and now he wants to give back to as many students as he can. That is, to mold them into actors; not movie stars. Luck is something that cannot be taught. But developing passion and working towards a goal would be far more rewarding anyway.
Danny's Personal Message:
Acting can only be learned by practice and discipline. When looking for a class, promise yourself that you will attend every session, and attend one with 20 students at the most. Otherwise you won't get much time on stage. Fifteen to Eighteen students will suffice. You should devote at least 45 minutes to an hour in each class. I can assure you that a class like this is rare in Los Angeles. Finally, make sure that the teacher will leave you with a technique to develop and work with on your own. Mastering a strong technique is the only part of the acting business you control; so find, study, and commit to a mentor who will guide you through the proper steps. That is why I devoted myself to developing FUN Acting Studios, a premier acting school in Los Angeles. Learn with me and hone your craft to perfection.
